more visitors!

it was such a great day since aunt sarah drove up from richmond to hang out with us. it was so nice to have the company and to catch up with her and of course have her meet the little dude for the first time. he was very comfortable with him holding her!!



we ventured out for lunch before sarah had to head back home and once again, graham was perfect the entire time. it was very quiet after sarah left though and we're looking forward to the next time she can come up to visit!

thank you grana and grampa for playing with me and holding me for 3 days straight! also, thank you for having your christmas tree up. i LOVED looking at all the pretty lights and sparkely ornaments. i can't wait for mom and dad to get our tree up at home.

happy thanksgiving from our little turkey to yours!!



we had a wonderful and busy thanksgiving day at grana and grampa's house. yes, that's right...we successfully took our first road trip with the little dude. we left bright and early (okay, so it wasn't so bright since it was 3am!) and arrived around 915am. we got the man settled and then let the thanksgiving festivities begin. what we were thankful for was that graham slept the entire way there!!

it was so nice to hang out in a different setting with family. graham was loving it as well. being held all day is great! :) mojo was loving being at grana and grampa's as well. being able to run outside and on the golf course is her favorite thing to do. and she REALLY loves when grampa takes time out to play with her!

and wow...grana and grampa definitely out did themselves this year. the food was absolutely fabulous! i have to say, i think it was the best thanksgiving dinner i've ever had! thanks grana and grampa!!

one month!

i can still hardly believe that graham is one month old today! it doesn't feel like it's been that long ago that we drove to the hospital at 7am, got induced at 8am and then had our little dude in our arms at 3pm!! it seems like it took forever (and a day) for 39 weeks to pass and now 4 short weeks have gone by in what seems like 1!

one month stats:

one month milestones:

has a VERY strong neck and can hold his head up for a good while when laying on our chests

is a pretty chill dude most of the time. he only really fusses when he's wet, hungry or just wants to cuddle. love it!

has 'showered' mom multiple times!!

had one glorious night where he slept for 5 hours straight! (most of the time he sleeps for 3-4 hours at night)

went to the doctors for the first time for a non-well visit. i'm glad to say that his eye is doing MUCH better now!
has a little case of baby acne. mwrrrrr. hopefully it will go away soon though.

has started to focus on and track objects

enjoyed most of the last bath we gave him. he especially liked the lotion bit at the end!

watched his first redskins game with mom and dad

celebrated his first holiday....halloween!!! and he was the cutest little sweet pea on the block!

went out to dinner for the first time with the clay's and murray's
has been to the outlet mall and the regular mall

three weeks!!!



our little dude is growing up so fast!

and normally when you get this face you also get tears. well we got tears...but only from the left eye and they were yellow and gunky. :( i was a little concerned, but was proud of myself for not freaking out. i calmly called the doctors office and told them what was wrong. to my surprise the pediatrician office is open until 8pm!! so we got the last 7:45pm appointment.

after a careful evaluation of his little eye, the doctor said graham has a very clogged tear duct. apparently it's a normal thing for newborns to get and they usually just have the parents massage the tear duct twice a day. but since graham had a little worse case than most, we were prescribed erythomycin (the same stuff they put on newborns eyes once their born) to put on his eye 3-4 times a day plus massaging his tear duct twice a day. we also try to wipe some of the gunk out of his eye with a warm washcloth...which he actually really seems to like.

on a positive note though...when they weighed graham at his visit he weighed 7lbs 10oz!!!! woo hoo!!! that's 4oz more than last week. that's all i could think about the whole way home. the every 2 hour nursing schedule is paying off!

just hanging out

the little dude was starting to feel left out at dinner time sitting in his swing in the sun room, so we decided to give his high chair a shot. success! so now we have family dinners every night. mommy is very happy about that!

case of the mondays

it's monday already?! the weekend went by way too quickly and we already miss daddy!!

big boy bath

now that the dude has a cute little innie belly button, we can now give him big boy baths! and because we are having our newborn photo shoot today, we figured we would get him all cleaned up and smelling good for the cameras.



he's still not a huge fan of the bath, but we're hoping he starts to like them soon once we get them into our routine. he definitely likes the wrapped in the blanket part though.

pibble love

mojo has been the best big sister we could have ever asked for. she loves the little dude and always wants to be around him. she's just now started to run into whatever room he's crying in to make sure he's okay. it's pretty sweet!



rudy's been a pretty good big brother too (the black blob in the background). i think he's learned to tune the crying out though!

woah! 2 weeks!

slow down time!! slow down i say!!!

the little dude is officially 2 weeks old today. he's growing up so fast. and in honor of his 2 week mark we also had his 2 week doctor visit today. nothing of too much concern, but he did lose another ounce from our last visit, but his length and head circumference increased. so he's growing...just not weight wise yet. and because he lost that ounce, that means more work for mommy with every 2 hour feedings during the day. we're hoping that will push him through a growth spurt and that he'll be packing on the weight by his 1 month visit on the 22nd.

(side note...in almost all of our ultrasounds, this was the exact position little dude would have his hands in everytime!)

mommy also had her 2 week post-op appointment and everything went great. my incision looks great and my uterus is nice and small already. and the greatest news...i've already lost 25 pounds!!! woo hoo!!! only 5 more to go until i'm at my pre-preg weight. i'll be well on my way to getting down a size smaller than my pre-preg size in no time! i'm looking forward to my 6 week post partum visit when i'll hopefully get the "OK" to start exercising again. then it's mommy bootcamp for me!! for now though we'll just deal with walks with mojo.

big boy belly!

that's right...little graham now has a big boy belly button! :)

and you know what that means....a first REAL bath this weekend!! yahoo! hopefully he'll like it a little bit better than his sponge baths. he hasn't been a fan of those so far. we might do one last sponge bath tonight to get him all cleaned up for his doctors appointment tomorrow.
