must have monday

for all of you photobugs out there...you MUST get an

what a time saver this little card has been!! i actually first saw these on the martha stewart 'cool gadget' holiday show back in 2009. i've been eying them ever since then and thanks to tim and andrea for christmas this year, i finally got one!!! i have to admit, i was a little skeptical on how well it would work, but to all of our surprise, it works GREAT!

so basically you put the eye-fi card in place of your memory card in your camera. any picture you take is saved on the eye-fi card and is then uploaded to your computer through your wireless network! no need to hook your camera up to your laptop anymore. woo hoo!!

i was just looking on their website, and for all of you iphone users (i have a droid), it looks like you can now download an eye-fi app and all your pictures and video can be sent from your phone to your laptop. hmmm, wonder if they'll make a droid app like this soon!!

tummy time

graham has decided that tummy time is tolerable now, all we needed was the vtech rolling and light up ball that grana and grampa got him for christmas! who knew! he's definitely more of a relaxer during tummy time though. i try to prop him up on his forearms so he gets the hint, but then he just wiggles back down and rests his head on the floor. he will turn his head from side to side though, and every now and then he'll raise his head to look at the ball.

and as you can see...the dude has also found his fingers!! when the binkie isn't around the fingers usually aren't too far away! we've caught him sucking on his thumb once or twice now, but mainly it's the fingers. they're tastey!

must have monday

this week's monday must have is a lifesaver for both grady and i!

babyesp

it's an app for the droid, but i know there is a similar one for the iphone. it is so great though. you can track ANYTHING (literally anything since you can add trackers manually) about your baby or babies! i would be so lost without this app. i can barely remember what i went to the kitchen for, nevermind when i last nursed, which side i need to start on or how many poops graham had that day! all that is solved with this app and since grady has the same app on his phone we can both track things for graham and have it update the same account. brilliant! i can even send the pediatrician an email with all his info if needed (luckily we haven't had to do that though).

if you're the type of parent who doesn't need an app like this...i commend you. but me, i NEED something it to keep me on track! so thank you babyesp developers!! you have made me a sane mother! i'm looking forward to the upcoming nursing timer update as well!

three months

happy three months little dude!!!

you're definitely starting to become your own little dude and we are having too much fun experiencing it with you.
here's what you've been up to this month:

- weight: 12 pounds (based on the doctors visit you had on 1/14)
still in size 1 diapers
- still wearing 0-3 month old clothes...although some of them are getting a little snug
- eyes are still a pretty grayish blue. we'll see if they stay that way soon enough!
- still not sure if your hair is blonde or strawberry blonde, but mommy would sure like it to be strawberry!
- you aren't completely sleeping through the night, but i can definitely get at least a 4 hour stretch each night...lately its been about 6.5 hours or so. luckily we have no problem putting you to sleep though. once you're fed for the night, lights out in cribland! :)
- you LOVE bathtime now! and you love getting your face wiped with the washcloth. we've even started letting the water that we pour on your head go down your face and you don't mind at all. hopefully this means you're going to be a fish like your cousins!
- not sure if you've exactly figured out that your hands are yours, but you definitely know how to put them in your mouth...all the time now!
- you've also figured out how to grab things. you like to hold onto your toys in your highchair.
- texture books are now your favorite types of books. you like to slap the pages and feel the different textures on each page.
- you are controlling all of your smiles now and react with smiles to lots of things now. like the words "agoo," "buggity buggity boo," "hi booger" or just if dad or i look at you and smile.
- you would be content laying on your changing pad for hours if we let you. something about it is very amusing for you!
- you can hold your head up on your own when we hold you. and you can move your head from side to side and hold it up for a little bit when you're on your tummy.
- you've started to 'jump.' where we hold you under your armpits, count to three and then lift you up and you stand on your own legs for a couple seconds.

and here are some of your firsts for this month:

- celebrated your first christmas
- celebrated your first new years
- went to daycare for the first time
- had our first weekend without daddy. we missed him A LOT that weekend!
- got your nails trimmed (not just filed) for the first time (and mommy didn't make you bleed at all. yeah!)
- went to your first party
- went to your second state, west virginia (first was north cackalackie)

under the weather

there has been another lack in my blog posts, but this time i have a legitimate reason. i've had the flu and 102+ degree temperature for the past three days. and two of those days i was at work. hmmm, maybe not the best of ideas. so needless to say whenever i got home i tried to rest as much as possible, which means not much time to blog. well and it looks like mommy's not the only one who is cuddling up in blankets!

i'm happy to report though that ibuprofen has done wonders and i was able to go back to work today after a day home of resting. i'm still not 100%, but definitely on the mend and fever free!

so i'm going to start something new on my blog...must have mondays! it's going to be a weekly post (hopefully!) where i'll spotlight a particular item, website, service or something of the sort, that i think all mom's, dad's, babies, etc. must have. of course i'll have either tested the product or used the service in order for it to be a must have! (disclaimer...i am not getting paid by anyone for these posts)

so i'm going to start my first must have monday off with a bang.....

workin 9-5

yup, i'm back to work (have been for the past two weeks)....hence the lack in posts and photos. sorry folks! i just need to get back in a routine and i'll get better. i promise!

work has actually been really great though. for those of you who haven't heard...i did not go back to the company i worked for when i was pregnant. i actually went back to the engineering firm i worked for back in 2005-2007. i received a promotion to marketing manager, which i was VERY happy about, and i'm loving being back in an office environment with people i already know. i now have a work family again. yeah!!!

i've been very busy already, which is a good thing. it keeps my mind off of graham during the day and it also makes the time go by very fast. needless to say though, when it hits about 515 i'm all packed up and ready to hit the road to see my boys! and i love when i see graham for the first time after work. he's all smiles and coos. love it!

the transition back to work hasn't been too bad either. it really is amazing how your body can work on such little (and broken) sleep and still be as productive as if you had the correct amount of sleep you need to be productive! i have started to have one small cup of coffee in the morning when i get to work though, just to get me going.

all in all, things are going well and both mommy and graham are adapting to our new schedules just fine. i'm looking forward to the day where graham starts sleeping through the night though and i don't have to wake up to feed him. the day will come!

reflux

so the little dude has recently had some coughing issues. it seems to only be when he's eating and an hour or two afterwards. the doctor seems to think it could be a mild case of acid reflux. poor guy, he strains to cough sometimes and it really breaks my heart to hear it. but at least it's not waking him up at night or anything. and he shows no other signs of being sick, so i'm agreeing with the doctor on the acid reflux diagnosis.

to try and treat it, we're now adding one teaspoon of rice cereal to his bottles. we'll see if this does the trick...if not then we'll have to add gas drops in addition to the rice cereal and see if that works. i'm really hoping the cereal clears things up. i'm trying to avoid giving him medicine as long as i can. i'm also hoping that he outgrows this reflux business soon.

daycare day one

graham had his first day of daycare today. i can't believe 10 weeks flew by so quickly! and i'd be lying if i said i wasn't dreading the day that i had to drop him off and not see him all day. i knew he would be in good hands with jodi at kindercare, but it was still hard to leave him. i did really well though. i got to daycare at 7:45am and walked back to the infant room. two of his teachers were there and they were very excited to see him. i had a little surprise for them under his hoodie (thanks isa for the onesie...see picture below) and got a good laugh out of them! they let me give him a couple extra kisses, and before i could start to cry i had to walk out of the room. i thought the waterworks would start in the car, but i think because i was too busy thinking about my first day of work that i thoroughly distracted myself.

i also thought i would be counting the hours to when i would see the dude again, but i was so busy at work that i didn't even have time to think about the time. the day flew by and soon it was time for me to pick the dude up. it was so awesome to see him, scoop him up and give him more kisses. apparently he doesn't like driving home in the dark though. he cried the whole way home...which didn't help mommy's headache!

all in all, the day was a success. graham survived his first day and seemed to enjoy himself while he was at daycare...and mommy survived her first day back at work, and at a new (old) job. this week will definitely be an adjustment, but i'm sure we'll make our schedules work.

new chapeau

the dude has a fairly large melon, so the cotton skull caps weren't cutting it anymore. that, and it's getting rather cold up here....so we got him this adorable fleece hat. mommy loves when he has it on!
