good 'ol budney (or rudy as we call him)!  the dude can't exactly get his name right, so to him rudy is budney.  we couldn't ask for a more patient cat as you'll see from these videos.  rudy has always been mojo's best friend, but i think she better watch out.  a new bff is making his way in!

apparently he doesn't want rudy to be mad or to be mad at mojo.  :)

exploration

it had been too long since we had seen the murray's and our other two kids!  so we headed over there for a little dinosaur exploration (yes, the kids were cleaning off 'dinosaur' bones under the swing set) and tree climbing.  we even tried corn on the cob for the first time!

and yes...that is ketchup you see on the dude's plate.  his dinner consisted of a couple bites of corn, yellow rice and dipping his finger in the ketchup and eating it.  are we sure he's our kid??!!

no big plans for tonight.  just going to have dinner with the boys and enjoy a couple glasses of wine!

funday sunday

sad face....today is our last day in san antonio.

we had such a great time.  i honestly can't put into words how great of a trip this was.  i'm not sure we've ever had one quite like this.  thanks for the memories!!!!

of course we had to squeak out a little more fun at grana and grampa's house before we hopped back on the plane.  we got some coloring in.  played with trucks.  and splashed around in the new pool!  

it will be good to be home, but we will miss all of you!

thank you andrea for remembering that we got at least one picture of just the 7 of us.  as the kids were getting restless at grandpa's birthday dinner, we decided to take them all home, get them in bed and then ummm...head out on the town!

mi tierra

it is a gorgeous day and we had already planned to walk down to mi tierra for breakfast.  

LOVE this place.  there are thousands of decorations on the ceiling in several different huge banquet rooms of the restaurant...AND...they have the best mexican food!!!  i'm in heaven.

breakfast was great, we stopped by some of the shops on the way back and then played chase uncle tim for a little bit.

90 years ago today!

one of the best men in the world was born today, 90 years ago.

happy birthday grandpa!!!  

we are so happy we're able to spend this milestone birthday with you.

here are just a few of my favorite memories with you:

teaching me how to fish using hot dogs

riding in the boat at goose pond

waking you up in the morning by running into your room and pinching your nose

swimming for hours in the pool until my hair turned green

teaching me how to draw by turning a picture of a horse upside down and telling me to draw it right side up!

many christmas visits to the monarch ct house

having you meet graham for the very first time

shortly after we got back from blue star, the kids woke up from their naps.

i love the graham's face in the top photo.  olivia was doing handstands in the pool.  i guess he was quite impressed!!

yes, while the kiddos took their naps, us big kids decided to venture over to blue star brewery. thanks grana for keeping an eye on them!

we started with a flight to figure out what each of us wanted.  they even had a margarita beer.  interesting, but not my cup of tea.  i forget what they called it, but oh man...their black and tan...AMAZING!  of course great minds think alike and both grady and i got one.  and of course we had to try something off the menu, so we got an appetizer of fries to share and snack on.  OH MY!  they were delicious as well.

verdict....we will be coming back here!

oh yeah, and while we were walking along the river back to the timeshare, i spotted something in the water.  no joke, there was a turtle a good two feet wide just hanging out!  crazy!

riverwalk

the riverwalk is pretty cool, and as this was grady's first time making the walk we made sure he got the whole experience.  and as a first time riverboat rider, he got christened.....bird pooped on him before we even left the dock!  ha!  he was a good sport about it though.  

the kids had a great time looking for ducks and fountains, while the adults enjoyed the sights and the sun.

traveling is always and adventure, and we were so happy to wake up this morning and be in texas with so many people we love!
