soccer bug

and so starts the season of 'the beetles!'

as the weather is getting colder and colder and winter creeps in, i know all to well what that does to people suffering with asthma.  and seeing as the dude played outside as long as possible, i wanted to find something for him to do inside that would wear off some steam.  and although he's at school and being polite to his teachers and friends, i wanted to start having him 'listen' to coaches, teachers, role models, etc.

one of our neighbors told me how he took his son to soccer bugs and how much they loved it.  so i decided to give it a try.  it's every saturday for 12 weeks.  and at an hour long, the dude was sufficiently WIPED afterwards!

we started the class with identifying body parts (graham was really good at the belly one!); popped bubbles; pretended to be different animals; played red light green light; made cone and saucer towers (and then knocked them down); practiced how to turn a cone over with one foot; and then ended the class playing with the parachute and getting stickers!!!

when asked if he had fun at soccer bugs, the dude's response was 'YES!'
and when asked if he wanted to come back next week, his response was 'OKAY!'

so far.....we LOVE soccer bugs!
