natural history museum

headed down to the natural history museum

saw some dinosaurs and minerals...

this was the face we got when the dude noticed the blue whale hanging from the ceiling!!

(he honestly stood there for a good 30 seconds like this!)

...and then decided to play with the statue!

(apparently this is exactly what he did the last time grady took the dude here!  he LOVES this statue!)

and it wouldn't be a trip downtown without the metro!

redskins head to the playoffs!!

so i'm at work three days before the skins head to the playoffs and get a voicemail.

long story short, i get a call from kerry asking if i would like to be her date to the playoffs!!!

UMMMMMMM, YES!!!!

what happened next was i proceeded to run out of my office and tell everyone what i was going to be doing!  see, kerry's husband is the equipment manager for the redskins.  so these weren't going to be the normal nose bleed seats i'm used to.

even though i wasn't going to be able to watch the game with my boys, we were all rockin our skins gear!

so like i mentioned before, these were no nose bleed seats.  we were right above where the skins run out of the tunnel, and right down the row from the pig pen!  and speaking of the pig pen...little did we know we were at the LAST GAME that the hogettes would be making an appearance.  sadly...they have disbanded!

so as you can see, we had a great view and had a great time!  

even though we didn't win, it was still an awesome moment in redskins history that we were able to experience.

first auto show!

the last time grady and i went to the dc auto show was about 5 years ago.  we figured it would be something fun to bring the dude to and we would enjoy it too.  the dude fell asleep on the way down there, but only got about a 45 minute nap.  once we got to the convention center we fueled him up with some snacks and off we went.

to our surprise there was a chinese dragon troup roaming the auto show the same day!  very cool!  we made our way into the show and then took a break for lunch.  of course the dude fell asleep again after lunch for a good 1.5 hours or so.  so we didn't get too many pics of him in cars....maybe next year!!

all in all though, we had a great time.  it was nice to get out of the house, look at cars we would LOVE to have, contemplate cars we COULD essentially get, and drool over cars we will NEVER have the pleasure of driving in our lifetime!  :)
