a day at the park

today we met up with a friend and her two girls at a local park. it's a HUGE playground and apparently has a very popular splashpad associated with it as well. graham had a fun time on this circle swing thing, and then in the big sandbox that the girls wanted to play in. hannah, in true form...slept!

tuckered out

so today we headed over to the massive playground near grana and grampa's house.  it's pretty awesome!  graham was digging the green car, which he now says is his car.  of course it was nice and quiet when we first got there and then there must have been a school field trip to the library next door or something.  because all of a sudden there was a flood of kids and parents in red shirts.  we didn't stay too much longer after they all showed up.  it was too hard to keep an eye on graham.

well and our schedule has been anything but normal these days, and naps for graham have been somewhat of a battle.  a battle i'm not willing to fight somedays.  i know he needs them, but it always works out that when he needs to go down for a rest, hannah needs to be fed.  and 30 minutes later, he's even more uninterested in taking a nap.  

so recently, this has been happening.  he'll ask to watch a movie on the ipad and sit quietly next to me, and then he'll fall asleep.  poor kid.  he has been such a trooper through all of this.  it's got to be A LOT for a 3 year old to take in..i know it's a lot for me!  

hang in there buddy.  we'll get back to normal soon!

big brother

have i mentioned at all yet how we haven't seen any jealousy from graham yet?!  we're so happy about it.  we know it's probably coming, but for now we're enjoying his happy and helping spirit.  it was a beautiful day today, so graham and i walked over to the playground to blow off some steam.  well he blew off some steam...just felt good to get moving and get some fresh air for me!

buddies back together

the clays were back in town for the holidays, and we were able to get the boys back together!

graham was very excited to see liam!!  we went to the park to burn a little energy....

...and then we met up at a friends house for some post-christmas fun!

Ryder's first!!!

today we headed to cox's farms for ryder's first birthday party!

of course graham fell asleep on the way to the party, but we got him to wake up a little while after getting there.  luckily!  he had an AMAZING time.  

the dinoslide was the main attraction for him!  daddy stood in line with him and took him down the slide.  he wanted to do it again, but the line was even longer than before.  so we took him around to the rest of the park.  

we saw some cows, walked through the stands in front of the milking stage, played in the hay and played in some kid-sized eggs!

happy birthday ryder!!!  i can't believe it's been a whole year already!

great country farm fun

not only did we go to great country farms to photograph the big reveal today....we also went for some farm fun!

it started with some giant air pillow bouncing...

followed by some playground playing...

then some animal feeding....

ended by a walk back to the car.

rainy day

it's soggy and rainy outside, so that means.....

...chibis indoor playground time!!!  

i don't know if i can even count the number of times graham went down the slide.  well and i have to admit...it is a pretty fun slide.  it's deceiving how fast it is!  graham found it pretty funny when mommy or daddy would come out at the bottom.

have you noticed a theme in my recent posts.....getting the kids outside!  

another theme....no jackets!!!  i'm loving this warmer weather for thanksgiving!  

today we headed out to the park before naptime and met up with grampa when he got off of work.  

we LOVE swinging...it was quite the scene getting the dude off of it to go to other parts of the playground.  once he was up an running though we had pretty good success.

the morning started with a walk down the street to look at all the christmas decorations some of the neighbors had outside already.

then we moved onto some raking.

spider boy

this boy has some sticky feet!  he scales the slide all the time with now hesitation at all.  

we definitely have a climber!

of course, if there are other kids at the playground we only go DOWN the slide, but if he's the only on up there....we let it slide!  ;)  haha...get it....slide!  (yeah, i'm a dork)

miss stefanie, hands down, is the best neighbor EVER!!

not only does she bake us the tastiest treats and share our love for good food, wine and scotch....but...

she brings out.......GRAHAM-bo!!!

dinosaur playground

i have heard so much about the dinosaur playground in ashburn, but have never made it out there.  until today!  and wow, this park is great! it's shady all over and has tons of playing opportunities for all ages!  we decided after making it through his second haircut, we would reward the dude and take him to the playground.  he loved it!

oh yeah...and he's a 'cool' dude with his sunglasses!  he got several comments and head nods from the dads at the park!

dad and the dude part deux

grady had today off, so he did a little relaxing in the morning while the dude was at school.  then after nap time, daddy went to pick the dude up to play at the park.  don't know if life could get any better!!

playground fun

for some reason it was unusually warm this weekend, so what else to do.....take advantage of it!!  we had all the neighborhood boys out yesterday, but of course, i forgot my camera.  liam was sleeping today, but we got the dude together with his buddies michael and adam.  

they had a fun time standing on the benches, going down the slides and running around on the tennis court together.  as much as i love winter, i can't wait until spring comes around so we can have more days like this.  i love having the dude outside getting dirty and tuckerd out.  for now we'll just keep thinking warm thoughts.

playground photoshoot

one thing i LOVE about our townhouse is the fact that there is a playground, tennis court and pool literally right across the street from us.  we somewhat thought about that when we were buying the place, but didn't realize how much of a luxury it would be until we had the dude.  

once he starts walking completely on his own we'll be at the playground more so he can walk around and move.  for now though, the tennis court and his walker is where it's at!  it's perfect!
